Are you tired of receiving unwanted promotional and marketing messages? UAE residents are happy to know that they have the power to block all these unwanted intrusions in just a few taps. These anti-spam regulations have been put in place by the UAE government, and the residents have the authority to block all unsolicited promotional messages and calls.
If you are an Etisalat or Du user, you can easily block all SMS advertisements. Just type “Ball” and send it to 7726. Your telecom operator will then block all text messages from senders that start with “AD-“. However, if you only want to block specific ads, you can specify the sender’s name or number by typing “B [SenderName/Number]” and sending it to 7726.
To prevent marketing calls, residents can sign up with their phone numbers for the ‘Do Not Call Registry (DNCR)’. To subscribe, just type DNCR and send it to 1012. Your number will then be automatically added to the registry. To check your number’s status, send ‘Check IDNCR’ to 1012.
Those in Dubai can also block and report spam callers by visiting dnd.ded.ae. By filling out and submitting the form, the Dubai Economy will remove the consumer’s contact number from the reported company’s database.
So, next time you’re bombarded with unwanted messages and calls, remember that you have the power to block them!
