Samsung users in Dubai can now use their smartphones to pay for public transportation by installing the digital nol card on the nolPay app. This new feature comes as a result of the agreement signed between the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Samsung Gulf Electronics at Gitex Global 2023. The CEO of Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, Mohammed Al-Mudharreb, stated that this agreement aligns with the government’s vision of establishing Dubai as a smart city and making it the first city in the region to digitalize public transportation cards on smartphones.

The digital nol card not only allows users to make secure digital payments for public transport but can also be used at various retail outlets throughout Dubai. Fadi Abu Shamat, head of the Mobile eXperience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the positive impact the digital nol card will have on consumer convenience, efficiency, and overall public transportation experience.

To enjoy the benefits of the digital nol card, Samsung users can download the nolPay app and make cashless transactions by tapping their smartphones or smartwatches. The card can also be used at select retail shops, groceries, public parks, museums, and more.

In conclusion, this collaboration between RTA and Samsung aims to enhance the technological capabilities of Dubai’s public transportation system, providing consumers with a seamless and convenient payment experience.
