Dubai Prepares for the Return of the Dubai Fitness Challenge: Residents Share Their Goals and Plans
Dubai residents are gearing up for the highly anticipated Dubai Fitness Challenge, a month-long event that aims to encourage a healthier lifestyle among its residents. The event, which officially begins on October 28 and runs until November 26, offers a wide range of complimentary workout options to participants.
During the Dubai Fitness Challenge, the city transforms into a fitness haven, providing activities such as running, cycling, swimming, yoga, weightlifting, and padel. Two of the flagship events during the challenge are the Dubai Ride, the city’s biggest cycling event on November 12, and the Dubai Run, the world’s largest fun run on November 26. Thousands of people are expected to participate in these events, including volunteers like Adeeb Mohammed, who aims to complete a total of 100 kilometers as part of his running training.
Hollie Singleton, another Dubai resident, is excited about the challenge as it aligns perfectly with her fitness journey. She has been on a wellness and strength improvement program for eight weeks and sees the Dubai Fitness Challenge as an opportunity to explore various fitness activities and connect with like-minded individuals in the community.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge was first launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. It challenges participants to complete 30 minutes of exercise each day for 30 days, hence the name 30×30 challenge. The initiative has since inspired millions to adopt healthier lifestyles.
To support participants in achieving their fitness goals, there will be three fitness villages in Dubai offering free activities and classes throughout the month. Additionally, there will be a Guinness World Record attempt for the world’s largest High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Feva Fit, a fitness technology startup, is also joining the challenge by introducing Outdoor Bootcamps to provide a dynamic and fun way for everyone to get active and make the most of the event.
