Indian TV star Priya, known for her role in the Malayalam television show Karuthamuthu, passed away on Wednesday after suffering a cardiac arrest. The 35-year-old actress was eight months pregnant and was undergoing regular pregnancy check-ups at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Sadly, she did not survive the heart attack. Reports state that Priya’s newborn baby is currently in the intensive care unit. She is survived by her mother, daughter, and husband Saravanan.

The news of Priya’s demise was shared by her former colleague, actor Kishor Satya, on Instagram. He mentioned that Priya had no other pre-existing health issues that could have caused the cardiac arrest. Satya expressed his condolences to Priya’s mother and husband, stating that he was at a loss for words and had many unanswered questions.

Priya was a well-known figure in the Malayalam television industry and gained recognition for her role in Karuthamuthu, which was one of the longest-running soap operas on Malayalam television. After getting married, she took a break from acting to pursue her MD degree and was working at PRS Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.

Priya’s unfortunate death comes shortly after the death of another Malayalam actress, Renjusha Menon. The circumstances of Menon’s death are still being investigated by the Kerala police.
