Sharjah, UAE – Indian expat Abdul Gafoor recently won Dh100,000 in the weekly Mahzooz draw. Gafoor, who works as a taxi driver, started buying tickets every week when he arrived in Sharjah seven months ago. Despite not receiving a regular salary yet, he made it a priority to participate in the lottery.
Gafoor heard about the draw from his roommates and decided to contribute Dh35 each week. Last Saturday, he was overjoyed to find his name among the winners on the Mahzooz app. He plans to use the prize money to clear some of his financial liabilities.
Gafoor is not the only Indian national to win the Dh100,000 prize. Two other winners, Pratik and Sathiya, both longtime expats, also claimed the jackpot. Pratik, who has been participating since last year, intends to use the money for his children’s education and buying more Mahzooz tickets. Sathiya, a project manager living in the UAE for over two decades, plans to secure his child’s education with the prize money.
Mahzooz is a popular lottery in the UAE, and many expats and locals participate in the hope of winning a significant cash prize. The lottery has gained attention for its weekly draws and generous payouts. Participants can buy tickets online or at selected retail outlets across the country.
