The transport authority in Ajman has announced a reduction in taxi fares following a drop in fuel prices after four consecutive months of increases [1]. In line with the change, Ajman Transport Authority has revised its taxi fares, starting November 1, to Dh1.83 per kilometer, which is a decrease of 7 fils from the previous rate of Dh1.90 in October [5].
The announcement comes after the UAE fuel committee set the petrol prices for November [2]. According to the committee’s decision, Super 98 petrol will cost Dh3.03 per liter, Special 95 will be priced at Dh2.92, E-Plus 91 at Dh2.85, and diesel at Dh3.42 per liter. These rates will be effective from November 1 until the end of the month [6].
This reduction in taxi fares and the decrease in fuel prices are expected to provide significant savings for residents. Some individuals have estimated that they could save up to Dh200 in their monthly budgets [7]. As a result, this move by the Ajman Transport Authority is likely to be well-received by the public.
