The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has officially updated its holiday homes policy to include farm stays, caravans, and RVs. This means that landlords and residential unit owners are now allowed to obtain more than one holiday home license for multiple units.
Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, the Director General for Tourism at the department, expressed excitement about the expansion of the holiday homes licensing policy. He believes that allowing farmhouses to offer guest accommodations will not only boost Abu Dhabi’s hospitality sector but also support agri-tourism. Al Geziry also emphasized the importance of providing visitors with unique and sustainable experiences that are reflective of the emirate’s rich heritage and renowned Emirati hospitality.
Under the new policy, farmhouse owners are granted a grace period of six months to initiate the licensing process for their properties. This move signals the department’s commitment to promoting diverse and authentic travel experiences in Abu Dhabi.
