Popular Malayalam actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Haneef has passed away in Kerala at the age of 60.
The veteran actor, who appeared in over 150 films, died from respiratory-related illness at a private hospital. He is survived by his wife Wahida and two children, Sithara Haneef and Shahrukh Haneef.
Haneef debuted in the 1991 film Cheppukilukkana Changathi and later starred in the award-winning crime thriller Drishyam with Mohanlal and several others like Ustad Hotel, Godfather, Kerala Police, and Vimaanam. He also appeared in the 2018 movie, Everyone Is A Hero, about the Kerala floods, which is India’s official entry to the Oscars 2024.
Haneef began his career as a mimicry artist and was part of the popular Kalabhavan group. He was known for making a significant impact on Malayalam cinema.
