UAE, Abu Dhabi- November 22, 2023: The United Arab Emirates is celebrated as a ‘melting pot of cultures’ due to its diverse expatriate population. With the Indian community being the largest in the country, constituting 30% of the total population, the question of renewing Indian passports in the UAE has become a common concern.

For those seeking to renew their Indian passports, Khaleej Times has compiled a detailed guide to provide all the necessary information.

Documents required include a filled online passport application form, two recent clear photos, the original passport for submission, a clear photocopy of necessary passport pages, and all signatures in black ink. It is essential for all applicants to submit the application in person for identification.

In terms of fees, the charges vary depending on the type of booklet required and if the Tatkal service, for urgent applications, is needed.

For adults, the fees for the 36 pages booklet and the 60 pages jumbo booklet are Dh285 and Dh380 respectively, with additional charges for Tatkal services and other administrative fees applicable.

In case of an emergency, applicants can visit the Consulate to avail the ‘Tatkal scheme’ by paying an additional fee, wherein the passport can be issued on the same day.

Aspiring individuals can find the necessary forms and additional information at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi or on the official website for passport applications.
