Legendary English midfielder David Beckham was welcomed with a grand party upon visiting India for the first time. The visit is part of his role as the goodwill ambassador of UNICEF, a four-day event that culminated on November 15th with the star being hosted at a gala by Bollywood celebrities Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja at their Mumbai home. Celebrities such as Farhan Akhtar and Karisma Kapoor also attended, sharing photos and videos of the event on social media.

Prior to the party, Beckham visited the Wankhede stadium to watch the World Cup 2023 semi-final game between India and New Zealand. He also met cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar, Sir Viv Richards, and Virat Kohli who was instrumental in India’s win.

Photos shared on Instagram showed Beckham watching the match at Anand and Sonam’s residence alongside Farhan Akhtar, his wife Shibani Dandekar, and Arjun Kapoor. Anand shared a congratulatory note for Team India’s victory, emphasizing how sport brings people together. Actor Arjun Kapoor also shared photos from the evening, joined by his girlfriend Malaika Arora.

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput were thrilled to meet their “teenage crush, David Beckham,” as shared by Shahid Kapoor. Meanwhile, Karisma Kapoor shared images of her warm hug with Beckham, and Sonam’s aunt, Maheep Kapoor, also shared glimpses from the star-studded night on Instagram.

Beckham also met Indian industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family at Antilia and was presented with a Mumbai Indians jersey with Number 7, a tribute to Beckham’s iconic jersey number while playing for Manchester United.

During the India vs New Zealand game, Beckham witnessed Virat Kohli becoming the first-ever cricketer to reach the milestone of 50 ODI tons, leading India to a victory, and securing their place in the World Cup final.

David Beckham has been making a splash in India, attending high-profile events and meeting some of India’s most influential figures. His visit has certainly been a memorable experience for all involved.
