Breathtaking Floral Art Exhibition Blooms at Pullman Hotel, Jumeirah Lakes Towers
A stunning array of flowers, depicted in all shapes and sizes, graced the Pullman Hotel in Jumeirah Lakes Towers over the weekend, as the hotel hosted a captivating floral art exhibition. Curated by the esteemed Dubai-based German expatriate, Peter Gressmann, the event showcased the work of 11 international artists who skillfully immortalized flowers on their canvases.
Each artist brought their unique perspective and talent to the exhibition, resulting in a diverse array of flora-inspired artwork. Rooma Eejaz’s art showcased women intertwined with flowers in a vivid and Fauvist manner, while Mridu Srivastava from India captured flowers with a dynamic and energetic style reminiscent of Georgia O’Keeffe. Lavanya Varma, also from India, blurred the line between abstraction and realism with her Macro style, creating a captivating paradox.
Faeza Mohammad exhibited an innate sense of beauty in her Impressionist paintings, imbuing her landscapes with texture and tactile quality. Ukrainian artist Maryna Futymska’s intricate, detailed depictions of flowers resulted in a gentle undulation and melodic flow in her art. The exhibition not only highlighted the artistic prowess of the participants but also provided a platform for cultural exchange, as art enthusiasts and connoisseurs from Dubai and beyond gathered to appreciate these botanical masterpieces.
Priyathanya Ramanath, an Indian artist, created tranquil and still art with dreamy, rhythmic qualities, while Shrutika Gosavi’s spontaneous expressionism came to life in her piece titled ‘Golden Date,’ blurring the line between realism and the subconscious. Rafa Tom’s Impressionist style added a captivating touch to his art, especially in his portrayals of women within picturesque landscapes, achieving a fine equilibrium between realistic scenery and an ethereal, impressionistic atmosphere.
Peter Gressmann, who made his first visit to the UAE in 1979, is the founder of Artforum UAE, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting artists from the Middle East. Since 2019, he has taken on the role of curator, orchestrating exhibitions at various venues across the UAE.
The exhibition at the Pullman Hotel not only celebrated the artistry of the participating international artists but also reflected the vibrant and diverse art scene in Dubai. Visitors left the event with a newfound appreciation for the beauty of flowers and the talent of the artists who brought them to life on canvas.
