The International Green Growth Forum (IGF) 2023 in Dubai brought together leaders and thinkers from around the world to discuss sustainability and climate action. In an exclusive interview with Gulf News, Ladwa, a prominent figure at the event, stressed the importance of the Global South in these discussions. “There is every reason for them to work together. Redressing the under-representation and untapped potential of the Global South is a vital step towards achieving a more equitable and inclusive world,” he stated.

Addressing the role of technology in mitigating the impacts of climate change, Ladwa highlighted IGF’s Climate and Business (ClimB) program and the launch of the World Climate Institute. He also emphasized the potential of digital infrastructure and innovation in regions like the Middle East, Africa, and India, driven by their young populations. Ladwa pointed out the significant percentage of young people in these areas, underscoring their potential to drive sustainable practices and change.

The discussion also touched on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC), with Ladwa highlighting its potential to impact global trade, connectivity, and economic integration. Despite geopolitical challenges, Ladwa emphasized the importance of IMEEC for global prosperity, with India playing a crucial role in navigating the project.

As an advocate of inclusive global partnerships, Ladwa stressed the role of platforms like IGF in fostering partnerships that empower the Global South and provide opportunities for businesses and nations to contribute to global prosperity. “It is time for businesses and nations to seize opportunities, achieve sustainable practices, and contribute to global prosperity through inclusive partnerships,” he concluded.
