Soudah Development: A New Era of Luxury Mountain Tourism in Saudi Arabia

In an effort to diversify the economy and expand vital industries such as tourism, hospitality, and entertainment, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) has unveiled an ambitious project in the Aseer region of southwest Saudi Arabia. Known as Soudah Development, this project aims to support the Aseer development strategy while creating a world-class tourist destination.

Soudah Development will consist of six unique development zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock. These zones will offer a wide range of facilities, including hotels, luxury mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, premium mansion sites, entertainment and commercial attractions, as well as outdoor activities dedicated to sports, adventure, wellness, and culture.

By 2033, Soudah Development will deliver 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residential units, and 80,000 square meters of commercial space for Soudah Peaks. The masterplan will be developed over three phases, with the completion of 940 hotel keys, 391 residential units, and 32,000 square meters of retail space expected by 2027 as part of Phase one.

Soudah Peaks spans over 627 square kilometers of pristine nature, with less than 1 percent of the land being acquired for building purposes. This approach to development ensures the preservation of the natural environment and the cultural and heritage richness of the region.

Mohammed bin Salman, Chairman of Soudah Development’s Board of Directors, emphasized that Soudah Peaks represents a new era of luxury mountain tourism, offering an unparalleled living experience while preserving the natural environment and cultural heritage. This project aligns with Vision 2030 goals of expanding tourism and entertainment, contributing to economic growth, attracting investments, and creating thousands of job opportunities.

Furthermore, the masterplan showcases a commitment to preserving the environment and natural resources for future generations. It aims to diversify national income sources and build a strong economy that attracts both local and global investments.

“Soudah Peaks will be a significant addition to the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia, putting the kingdom on the global tourism map,” said Mohammed bin Salman. “Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the beauty of Soudah Peaks, explore its rich culture and heritage, and experience the authentic hospitality of the local community. This destination will offer unforgettable experiences amidst lush greenery, above the clouds.”

With its focus on sustainability, cultural preservation, and unmatched luxury, Soudah Development is set to elevate Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector and showcase the country’s rich heritage to the world. As construction begins and the project takes shape, Soudah Peaks is poised to become a must-visit destination for travelers seeking unparalleled experiences in a breathtaking natural setting.
