Stringent rules are in place in the UAE to ensure fire safety, with violations carrying heavy fines. The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense issued an advisory on Tuesday reminding residents of the importance of maintaining free access to firefighting equipment.

Every building in the country is required to have firefighting equipment installed, including alarms, extinguishers, and proper exits.

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense stressed that in addition to making these devices available, they must also be easily accessible. Obstacles that hinder access to firefighting equipment within a building are considered a serious violation and can result in a fine of AED 2,000.

Earlier today, authorities in Abu Dhabi successfully extinguished a fire that broke out in a building. Residents were promptly evacuated with no reported injuries. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
