Former journalist and tarot card reader Jigna Vora has entered the Big Boss House after experiencing a year of wrongful imprisonment. Vora spoke to City Times and discussed her time in jail, her journey to resilience, and her future plans in her career following her disturbing experience.
When asked about her Dubai background, Vora mentioned that she lived in Deira and attended Indian High School, enjoying abra rides and parottas in her youth. She later shifted to Mumbai for her education and hasn’t visited Dubai since 2008.
Vora also shared the experiences of her fellow prisoners and how it changed her perspective as a journalist. She detailed the horrific stories of other inmates and how it altered her judgmental nature.
Following her release from prison, Vora struggled to find employment due to her criminal record. She has since turned her experience into a source of inspiration for others and now still talks about how she survived the ordeal.
When asked about her family’s reaction to her situation, Vora mentioned that her son was her anchor and supported her throughout the ordeal. Her son is now in the US, working in the food industry.
Looking ahead, Vora has signed on with two production houses to create a series of scripts about the characters she met in jail and what they are doing now. She expressed frustration at the lack of support from her journalism community and hopes to bring more awareness to her situation through her upcoming projects.
