Dubai Fitness Challenge 2023: A Guide to the Month-Long Event

Dubai, Oct 25, 2023 – Get ready to transform Dubai into an open-air gym as the highly anticipated annual 30×30 fitness challenge is set to kick off on October 28. Alongside the flagship events Dubai Run and Dubai Ride, this year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge will feature a range of new and exciting activities, including a world record attempt, a thrilling skypool triathlon, and a stand-up paddle challenge.

For those looking to join the thousands committing to 30 minutes of physical activity for 30 days, here’s a complete guide to the DFC’s 30-day calendar this year, including the timings of the fitness villages and major events.

Fitness Villages:

There will be three fitness villages hosting free activities and classes throughout the challenge. These include:

DP World Kite Beach Fitness Village:
– Weekdays: 8am to 1pm for schools, 3pm to 10pm for the public
– Weekends: 7am to 10pm
The village will offer 24 sports and fitness zones, including a dedicated Children’s Zone, a Rebounder zone for high-flying fun, a Sun & Sand Sports Boxing Ring, and various areas for yoga, football, basketball, and padel.

RTA Mushrif Park Cycle Centre:
– Guided group bike rides across mountain bike trails, road track, and pump tracks
– Free bikes provided for each session based on availability

Run and Ride Central (One Central):
– Open daily from 7am to 10pm
– Over 400 hours of activities hosted by participating brands like adidas, Asics, Meraas, Sun & Sand Sport, and Siro
– Central point for participants to collect their bibs for Dubai Ride and Dubai Run events

Across the City:

In addition to the fitness villages, there will be over 600 free fitness classes offered throughout the city, making it easier for participants to support their 30×30 goals.

Other Events:

The Dubai Fitness Challenge will also feature several other events and activities, including the Dubai Padel Cup, offering free clinics, junior programs, community tournaments, business talks, and a government tournament.

New Events:

– November 12: World’s largest HIIT class – A Guinness World Record attempt for the world’s largest HIIT class on Sheikh Zayed Road. Led by Adidas and Les Mills and supported by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police.

– November 18 and 19: Skypool triathlon – Participants will row 3km on a static machine, pedal 3km on a stationary bike, and swim 250m around a 360-degree infinity pool, all from 200m in the air at the Aura Skypool.

– November 3-5: Work out at the iconic Museum of the Future – Participants can enjoy wellness activities, including yoga and sound journey sessions, with the Museum of the Future as a backdrop.

Major Events:

– Dubai Ride – Sheikh Zayed Road will be transformed into a giant cycling track for families, novice cyclists, and enthusiasts. Participants can choose a 4km Downtown Family route or a challenging 12km Sheikh Zayed Road course.

– November 18: Dubai Stand-Up Paddle – This event takes place against the backdrop of Hatta’s iconic mountains and offers free training sessions for Stand-Up Paddle (SUP), a mass challenge event, and a tranquil sunset yoga session.

Additional Activities:

– November 5: Dubai Women’s Run – 3km, 5km, and 10km routes for female participants.

– November 5: Dubai South Ride and Run – Cyclists can explore Dubai South with 80km and 40km routes, while the Dubai South Run offers 10km, 5km, and 3km routes.

The Dubai Run, presented by Mai Dubai, will also take place on the final weekend of DFC 2023, with options for a 5km route for beginners and a more challenging 10km route.
